The 2021 CapitaLand Charity Life Festival

The 2021 CapitaLand Charity Life Festival will focus on the theme “Waste-free Cities, Low- Carbon Living”. The program of waste-free cities refers to an advanced urban development and management model that aims to promote green lifestyles, minimize the amount of waste produced, strengthen recycling programs, and ensure that waste released into the environment is harmless.
As one of the serviced apartment of CapitaLand Group, Somerset Zhongmao Changchun has been actively involved in such activities. This year, we focus on the theme of recycling coffee grounds and continue to convey the concept of green and environmental protection. From 14th to 21st Oct 2021, we held the “Coffee Grounds Delivery” and “Environmental Protection Signature” activity in the lobby, many residents joined in this activity. Through this activity, we realized the concept of environmental protection.

Coming to the 5th day of the fifth lunar month, it is time to celebrate the traditional Dragon Boat Festival. And it is also the year we gathering together and taking bites of the yummy Zong Zi in Somerset Zhongmao Changchun. All the residents made their own Zong Zi following the demonstration of our chef. It really feels like we are a one big happy family sitting together, chatting and laughing, drinking some tea, eating Zong Zi made by the others. What a meaningful gathering in this special period.

It is a Children’s Day belongs to both little friends and elder friends. In Somerset Zhongmao Changchun, we prepared Young Pioneers’ red scarfs in every room. Whether you are a pupil now or used to be one, let’s put on the scarf together. Our staffs collected some old toys from the 1980s and put on a small exhibition in the residents’ lounge. It was really a good experience we sit together with our guests and shared childhood stories with each other. In the afternoon and evening, a marathon cartoon movie play was on in the theatre. Just opened last November, Somerset Zhongmao spent its 1st Earth Hour very seriously. We sent a shopping bag to every guest and encourage them to use it as the replacement of plastic bags. With this durable and good-looking shopping bag, you’ll be the green pioneer in every shopping mall and supermarket. In the meantime, we turn off the façade and non-essential public area lights for one hour in line with the global Earth Hour activities.
